Saw: The Final Chapter

Well, I was wrong. After the immense disappointment that was Saw VI, it gets worse. For some inexplicable reason, the entire mythology, the motivation of Jigsaw, everything that had been established to date has been ripped away and ruined. Rewriting history has distorted a once-interesting and culturally-impacting horror series and turned it into a routine rotter. This is run-of-the-mill shit. The gimmicky use of 3D is also shameful, as if that was why people would go and see how the series ended.

Tobin Bell is back. Kevin Greutert occupies the director’s chair, steering this shipwreck with no skill or nuance. Others also appear from before, though whether they should is an entirely different question.

It all could have been so much better. What a disappointing anti-climax.
